Getting Expose-style effect in Ubuntu

To get an effect similar to the on MacOS, you need an version with integrated (I think >= 8.10) and a capable graphics board.

Then you need to install compizconfig--manager via apt or synaptic and a new link will be created in your system -> menu.

There, you can set up ’ effects, key and mouse bindings and much more. The desired effect is located under “Scale”.
